According to analyst at IDC China, at least 160 000 3D printers can be sold next year in China-which will make China a bigger marker for 3D printing than US.
However, Mo Minyi, an analyst at IDC China noted that we should keep in mind that China is lagging behind with respect to the revenues compared to the United States, despite the large sales volume. While in the US, most companies purchase expensive high-end equipment it is the opposite in China where mainly inexpensive desktop printers are purchased in China.

3D Printing in China
Sales of 3D printers in China is expected to come in this year at around 77 000 copies. That’s twice as much as the 34,000 units in 2014. 3D Printer demands in China is mainly for printers that cost less than 5000 USD.
As China improves its manufacturing base, the increase and demand for high-end 3D printers will grow.
As for today while the biggest 3d printing market in China are home desktops printers, we see a rapid growth of China made high end additive manufacture equipment and machines. The growth also involves the market around 3D Printing, such as powders and others materials for 3D Printing.
The IDC predicts that by 2020 at least 440 000 units’ 3D printers will be sold per year only in China. The annual growth in the next five years is estimated at 43 percent.
